RLabs Trained Counsellors

A blog post by one of the youth workers:

We the RLabs trained counsellors are expressing our gratitude and gratefulness to the RLabs organizers and Youth For Technology Foundation for organizing an inspirational programme like this. Prior to the starting of the programme majority of us was unaware of the different social media networks and their uses; but through the workshop seminar we were able to learn about social media and how we can use them to develop our potentials.

We are now familiar with social networks like Youtube, Blogging, Gmail,Flickr,Skype,Facebook etc. Some of us were ignorant of the effects of substance abuse but they were made known to us through the programme . Also we learnt a lot more about sex education and how it can abstain from risky behaviors that can expose us to contracting dangerous diseases like HIV and AIDS and all the STI's. We have equally learnt about these preventative measures and how to care with people living with such diseases.

We can not forget the games we played together like:"A WHAT,THERE IS FIRE ON THE MOUNTAIN" and all other games. We have equally learnt about team work as an easy way of achieving good results. Our partners from South Africa Brent and Bradley, we wish you journey mercies back to your country. YTF is grateful and all the paticipants. Thanks

The Journey Begins

Training has kick started here in Nigeria with the youth workers from Youth for Technology Foundation. What a privilege for the team from South Africa to be here and be part of this initiative. We will be in training with sixteen of the youth workers for the next three days. Here are some pics of today's training where we did a workshop on: "What Is Your Social Media Appetite? "
